This skill allows users to control their Broadlink R3 device (IP to infra-red bridge device) from Alexa without using a smarthome gateway device. The Broadlink R3 is a very inexpensive IP to IR bridge, allowing users to control any infrared device via the local network or internet.
The Broadlink R3 device is required. You must also set up port forwarding on your router so that the IP address and port of the Broadlink R3 device is accessible from the internet.
During the account linking process in the Alexa App, you must specify the IP address and port you have forwarded to the Broadlink R3 device, as well as the MAC address of the device.
The skill includes commands to allow the Broadlink R3 to learn IR remote control codes for each user’s TV.
The default port of the Broadlink R3 is 80.
